Portfolio Highlight: Mt. Hood Jazz Band CD Cover

This was a CD cover and inlay created for the Mt. Hood Jazz Band using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop CS4. For the design, the intent was to capture the feel of jazz within the cover-raw, edgy and underlying elegance. The music notes used in the design are adapted from one of the tracks “Georgia On My Mind”.

Portfolio Highlight: Alam Cocoa

The purpose of this project was to illustrate the ideation process in which a visual identity system was created for a theoretical cocoa company that is a member of the World Cocoa Foundation.  This included determining a name for the company relevant to the country of origin, creating a logo, and developing product packaging for three sample products. The country selected was Indonesia. The company that was created was Alam Cocoa, a company that specializes in organic chocolate products.

Anti-Drunk Driving Campaign

Thats a solid brew! HAHAHA-Did you see what I did there?!...but seriously folks....dont drink and drive.

Here’s a great ad campaign that was created by Fisher Portugal for an anti drunk driving led by  The Salvador Association.  I like how the photos and lighting are very impacting (no pun intended) and dramatic. Very powerful and fitting for an important message. Thanks to Designcrave.com for the highlight.

Automotive Erotica

This is sexy, no?

This is sexy, no?

This car is sleek and sexy…and unfortunately it isn’t even real. This is a concept car created by a group of young Iranian graduates in Industrial and Transportation Design who surprised the automotive industry at this year’s “From Dream to Reality” exposition in Tehran. The design of this ad really highlights the features of the sweet auto.  I like the white motion lines that offset the black, and draw your eye up to the vehicle. The lighting is phenomenal as well. Thanks to Designcrave.com for the sweet pics and heads up.

Custom portraits for custom bikes

DESIGNCRAVE.com has highlighted some cool custom bike portraits by Jared Souney. I’ve posted my favorite below, and like always click on the pic to head over and check out more fine bicycle compositions and custom bike engineering.

Papyrus Strikes Again.

I was driving through town, I saw this sign and I had to take a picture of it.

Is this really balanced?

Is this really balanced?

I thought the name was pretty ironic compared from a graphic design standpoint.  When will we break the use of Papyrus for all things associated with health and wellness?! When will it end?!!

DIY Landscapes

I found something extremely cool at DesignCrave.com. There’s a photographer by the name of Andrew Brooks who takes his photos and creates his own landscapes that meld countrysides with cityscapes, and he does this very well! Click on the photo below to see more.
